Quotes are awesome. They're simply just a combination of words strung together that make up something meaningful to you or to others. It sounds kind of silly, but it's amazing how much power words can have on people. As humans, we live and feed upon sayings, trying to conform to what we've been taught.
Mr. Vincent R. DiNino, one of the most iconic directors of the Longhorn Band, has passed away.I remember meeting Mr. DiNino for the first time in LHB when I was a freshman. He'd get up on the podium in the band hall, look around, and get ready to conduct the Eyes of Texas. He would conduct it with such passion, such enthusiasm, and such energy; something you would normally never see in someone in his early 90s! The guy standing next to me in band afterwards would tell me to "never forget this moment, because it's one of the greatest moments you'll ever live when in Longhorn Band." That certainly couldn't have been any truer.
Hopefully everyone has had a fresh start to their new year! Have you kept up with your resolutions? I have (for the most part).I've found it actually to be a little difficult to try and film something unique every day. Other than working five days a week and staying at home for the most part on weekends, what is there to film? I think it's not so much trying to force new things to happen to your life; rather, you just let them happen. And even then, we sometimes might be completely unconscious about it.
This marks a New Year's resolution that I've made: write a blog detailing interesting things. Hopefully this blog won't get rundown with really mundane posts that nobody can relate to. I want to write about anything and everything: programming, my life, aspirations, silly anecdotes, why one place has better sushi than the other, et cetera. My goal is to give myself a weekly update on what all is going on, and hopefully I can inspire some ideas in some people who read this blog.
